Application Techniques

Our Technicians are educated in the latest in installation applications. During your consultation, your technician will help decide the installation technique right for you and your life style. The application process can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours to complete. Once completed, this luxurious hair will be yours to wash, brush and style just as if it were your own.

K-Tip Hair Extensions

Keratin Tip Hair Extensions are applied by our experienced technician, Crystal Andrea, who has been specializing in keratin bonded hair extensions for over ten years. This method involves bonding with heat using a micro bonding technique, not glue.

Ideal for those seeking a lasting solution for fine or thinning hair, these extensions allow for versatility in styling as the hair can be worn up or down. Perfect for color-treated hair that needs touch-ups, this application is the only one that allows direct chemical application to the bond. Fill sessions are recommended every 4-12 weeks, with partial application removal and refilling. With proper care, a full head installation may not be necessary throughout the lifespan of the extensions.

MICRO I-TIP (BEADED) APPLICATION

Our skilled professional, Aubrey Dumont, specializes in the precise and swift application of our Cushioned Polyurethane I-Tip method. This bead-based technique does not involve heat; each strand is threaded through a bead using a special tool and secured to the hair.

This application allows the hair to move freely from its base, making it perfect for various styles, whether worn up or down.

Maintenance is crucial for this method. A touch-up is recommended every 4-12 weeks, during which some strands will be replaced and reused. With proper care, a full extension replacement may not be necessary throughout the extension's lifespan.

TAPE-IN APPLICATION

Bellami’s Tape-In application features medical-grade adhesive with a matte polyurethane coating over mesh, known for its speed and anti-shed technology. Kelly Korslund performs this quick weft application, which typically takes up to two hours. Each weft is taped and can be reused for subsequent replacements.

The Tape-In method suits individuals who prefer wearing their hair down. The wefts are on a "hinge," allowing movement only up or down, making it challenging to conceal the tape when worn up. This installation requires complete removal and replacement every 6-8 weeks, ensuring a fresh application of tape. The weft can be reused for up to a year.

This application is best for clients without color-treated hair, as chemicals cannot be applied over the tape. These wefts are suitable for short-term use, like special events or holidays.

Care and Maintenance

Each style of Bellami extensions requires specific care and removal. K-tips are discarded after use while Tape-Ins and Wefts, I-Tips beads can be reused. The removal process does not damage the hair; in fact, natural hair becomes longer and healthier after removal because the extension hair shields the natural strands while in use. Typically, the strands will naturally slide out over time, but they can last up to 6 months. Regular maintenance and check-ups can extend the lifespan of the hair, with recommended fill-ins every one to three months.

To ensure long-lasting results, it is crucial to dry the extension application site promptly after getting wet or washed. Wet bonds can weaken the strands, reducing their longevity. Regular brushing from the bond to the ends is advised to facilitate a smooth transition as your natural hair grows and prevent tangling with the extension hair.
